Student Life
Leaving home can be both an exciting and sometimes daunting time, as you encounter new people and new experiences. We’re a local, lively village church on the doorstep of the Sutton Bonington Campus of the University of Nottingham.
At SB Baptist Church, students from any church background (or none) have the opportunity to make friends, be cared for, get involved in church life or just sit on the periphery; the choice is yours. We have a lot to offer as a place where students find a home from home, with lunches in local homes and a warm welcome. For many years we have welcomed students from all over the country, and beyond, many of whom still keep in touch.
Student Life Group, Sundays, 7.00pm
Hosted by Karen and David Gray during term time. Contact us for more info.
International student bible study
Overseas students and post-graduates have a special welcome and place in our church family. Several of our regular church members have lived, studied and worked overseas and understand the particular excitements, delights and challenges of living in a new culture. Whether you are on your own or have brought a spouse and children with you, whether you have left a church family back home or you know nothing about Jesus and are curious to know more, you are welcome at SB Baptist Church.
You may well meet our Friends International Student worker, Val Owens, in your first few days on SB campus and as a church we have a special programme of activities, meals, social occasions and events organised for you throughout the year.
International Student Fellowship
An opportunity to meet for bible study and friendship every Wednesday evening in a local home. Those wishing to investigate Christianity are very welcome. Contact Val Owens for information on 07942 073 750 or email val.owens@friendsinternational.org.uk.
